Weapon Mass Destruction (WMD) Projects of Burmese Military Regime (1992-2010)

(I received additional information from www.photayokeking.org Burmese Website)

I would like to inform you about weapon mass destruction (WMD) projects of Burmese military regime. After Senior General Than Shwe took power in April 1992, he proposed three strategies to the Burmese military: to increase military strength, to modernize their military, and to own nuclear weapons. General Than Shwe has updated the defense industries to modernize military since 1992. He plans to be a powerful military in the South East Asia. Before 1992, there were only six defense industries in Burma. Now there are twenty defense industries. General Than Shwe assigned Lt: General Tin Aye for Chief of Defense Industries. Tin Aye is a Chief of Myanmar Economic holding (military owned company) and former personal security officer for General Than Shwe. According to Than Shwe ‘s plan, they need to create air to surface missiles, surface to surface missiles(short range and long range), air to air missiles, motors, artillery, guns, ammunition and nuclear weapons from defense industries in Burma.

No (1) Defense Industry, Mayangon Township, Yangon Division (near Inya lake hotel)

There are over (600) military employees in No (1) Defense Industry and they assemble the small guns MA-1, MA-2, MA-3, MA-4 (MA=Myanmar Army).

They have already built and finished the missile factory, since 2003-2004. They hired North Korea and Russia experts to make the missiles. They bought any kinds of parts for missile from South Korea, China and Russia.

No (11) Defense Industry, Orange Garden village, Teikgyi Township, Bago Division There are over (1000) military employees and their responsibilities are to produce small arms. They built the factory with Daewoo Company from South Korea in 1993. The factory has produced the small arms completely since 1995/1996. It is the main small arms factory for the Burmese army. The factory supports many small arms to Defense ministry and Home ministry of Burmese regime.

Czech’s company left the factory from Burma after Czech becomes a NATO’s member.

No (18) Defense Industry They are still looking for place to build the factory.

No (19) Defense Industry They are still looking for place to build the factory.

No (20) Defense Industry, Saytoketaya Township, Magwe Division There are over (400) officers and other ranks and they intend to produce nuclear weapons in this factory. They sent hundreds military engineer officers from Defense Services Technology Academy in Maymyo, Burma to Russia for this factory.

General Than Shwe is keenly interested in plan to produce any types of missiles, after taking the state power of Burma in 1992. He ordered the Military Strategic Team to make a project for manufacturing missiles and rockets in early 1993.Later, they (military strategic team) offered North Korea, South Korea, China and Russia companies to build the missile factory. They urgently tried to buy and fix factory equipments. They used compartment systems to produce missiles and rockets in their project. North Korea experts are the most valuable source for making missiles. Usually, they buy the equipments and materials from Russia, China and South Korea. They have already produced the missiles and rockets from the factory since 2003-2004. They bought missiles and rockets by cash from North Korea and Russia. There have already distributed many missiles and rockets at Burma military bases.

They got in touch with the North Korea experts secretly before 2007. They used the Burmese company “Soe Min Htike” for making contact with North Korea. Soe Min Htike Company was responsible to send North Korea experts to Burma, to buy equipments and materials for factory, to pay the bill for anything. Burmese government receives billions of dollars from gas. Most of the money is deposited to foreign secret banks accounts. General Than Shwe is the only one authority figure who can withdraw the money from foreign secret banks accounts. His assistant, Lt General Tin Aye is the only one signing person on check. Lt: General Tin Aye controls all top secret financial information of Burmese Military Regime, behalf of General Than Shwe.

They sent 5000 military officers to Russia for studying nuclear, missiles, computer, and information technology. They are working to own nuclear weapons and missiles at Saytoketaya Township, Pwint Phyu Township, and Nat Mauk Township from Magwe Division and Maymyo (Pyin Oo Lwin) Township from Mandalay Division. If they own the weapon of mass destruction (WMD), General Than Shwe will threaten Thailand first because of his hatred towards the king of the Thailand. General Than Shwe also used to often say at the Defense Headquarters that Burma does not need to be afraid of the United States and military alliance Thailand, if only she has the nuclear capability like North Korea, in point of fact, could afford to care less of America. The senior military officers took his words as policy guidance. However, the international countries ought not to possess Weapon of Mass Destruction (WMD) in the Burmese military regime. I predict that the United States' new policy on Burma will be effective to the supreme General Than Shwe. General Than Shwe is also aware of the fact that the US is better than China for our country Burma.

Therefore I believe the new US policy on Burma can persuade Than Shwe to release national leader Daw Aung Sun Su Kyi and political prisoners, to discuss with all Burmese opposition parties, ethnics and Burmese military regime and to stop military relation with North Korea. I hope that Burma can become a developed democratic state when all the freedoms of speech, the press, religion and expression flower in accordance with the law. It is vital for National League for Democracy and Ethnic Political parties, Ethnic Insurgent groups that have reached peace agreement with the regime, individuals and groups working for national good and the ruling military enter to discuss and find a solution. . Furthermore, Burmese new democratic government will give up possessing nuclear weapons and WMD. She may spend billions dollars of money from national income to peace and develop for the people of Burma instead of Defense Industries.

“God bless our country, Burma.”

Aung Lynn Htut
